Sanifa Breeding Program
SANIFA breeding program is being led by Dr. Albert Santos who is one of the top notch breeders from across the world.
He is originally from the Philippines And obtained his BS Agriculture degree from the Univ. of the Philippines at Los Banos. He did his Master and PhD at North Carolina State University’s Small Grains Breeding program. He joined Delta and Pineland in 2000 as Associate Breeder in Scott, Mississippi with Dr Don Keim. He developed successful BG2RF cotton lines for the lower Mid-South region of the US. Using his breeding knowledge from other crops, he developed highly competitive cotton varieties that were widely adapted to the different growing regions in the US.
Breeding Objectives
SANIFA is using world class Canadian software Agronomix which is being Internationally used for breeding purpose. Agronomix provide reliable, relevant, and timely data analytics. Helps in product development decisions specially with regards to product fit for agro - ecological zones. We ensure our breeding program meets globally recognized protocols

Meeting International Standards
- Purifying already approved local varieties to attain maximum varietal potential
- Developing SANIFA’s own proprietary germplasm in line with breeding objectives
- We are testing new varieties in 5-7 locations for minimum of 2 -3 years before commercialization.
- Fiber quality is tested using HVI machines from independent HVI labs and state-of-the-art labs of Sapphire, Nishat and Fatima Groups.
